Shoul ADR (South Africa - 1975) Marc Shoul

lives and works in Johannesburg after studying photography at the Port Elizabeth Technikon. His images appear regularly in international magazines like Time, Stern, or Colors. It also collaborates with international organizations, including WHO.

Concerned about the social changes he sees in his country, they deal with documenting the various communities that make up South Africa. If his work was shown widely in his country, he presents Pier No. 1 its first solo exhibition in Europe.

Flatlands
For over a century ago, Johannesburg is a city of immigration that continues to attract a steady stream of people filled with hopes, from all over Africa. Marc Shoul interested in new waves of immigration that transformed post-apartheid it was called "Little New York" in "Little Lagos". Today, parts of Johannesburg gives the image of a pan-African Babylon releases a captivating energy that many artists settle despite its reputation for being dangerous and unhealthy.

Life is difficult in buildings in the neighborhood of Hillbrow, which he explored for five years. Flatlands is a result of this long journey in a world sometimes dark, sometimes joyful but always fascinating. Every picture tells a story that illuminates a part of a world often misunderstood.
